Palma de Mallorca, 23 de febrero de 2017 – Bedsonline, el proveedor global líder de acomodación y productos complementarios exclusivo para agencias de viaje, ha anunciado hoy la entrada de Mikel Lemos López en el equipo de Bedsonline España como nuevo responsable comercial para la zona norte que cubre el País Vasco, Cantabria, Burgos, Palencia, Soria, Navarra y La Rioja.

Mikel atesora una vasta experiencia de más de 20 años en el sector turístico en funciones centradas en la gestión y el liderazgo comercial. Antes de unirse al equipo de Bedsonline, Mikel era el ejecutivo de ventas de la zona norte para el Grupo Barceló, donde se encargaba de la comercialización de los paquetes turísticos del Grupo, captación de grupos, organización de Fam Trips y atención personalizada de su cartera de clientes. Esta trayectoria le ha permitido establecer una sólida relación con los diferentes agentes del sector, de hecho su entrada en Bedsonline permitirá reforzar la estrategia impulsada por el equipo directivo para asentar el liderazgo de la compañía en el mercado doméstico y prestar una mejor atención a las agencias de viajes que operan en esta zona.

Berlin, March 8, 2017 – Destination Services, a leading provider of incoming services to the travel trade and part of Hotelbeds Group, today announces at ITB Berlin a year-on-year upsurge of 26% in bookings from the German source market for its specialist destinations during the October to January period.

This increase is mainly driven by interest for groups and Fully Independent Travellers (FIT) roundtrip products.

South Africa (+55%) and Kenya (+41%) have been the fastest growing specialist destinations for the German market in the last four months. Other popular routes have included: Namibia, India, Peru, Tanzania and Mauritius.

	Solid increase in sales, despite slow local market growth[1]

Berlin, March 8th 2017 - Hotelbeds Group, the number one bedbank worldwide and a business-to-business provider of services to the travel industry, today announces at ITB Berlin that its Bedbank brands continued to outperform the German source market, growing above the market average for the year ended 31 December 2016.

Germany remained one of the most important source markets for Hotelbeds Group, where the company offers German intermediaries access to over 120,000 hotels, 20,000 transfers and 12,000 activities available in over 180 destinations globally.

As a destination for German travellers, Spain was the most visited country in 2016 with an increase of 26% in TTV. This was followed by the USA as a second destination choice, Turkey fell from second to third place as a destination for German travellers after experiencing a significant decline. Meanwhile other fast growing destinations for German travellers were Thailand, Greece, Portugal and Croatia.

The average stay for German travellers grew from 4.12 days in 2015 to 4.19 days in 2016, above the European average of 3.28 days. Greece recorded the longest average stay for Germans with 7.59 days, while the average stay in the UK by German travellers was 3.03 days. Despite being a long-haul destination, the USA average stay was only 3.24 days (this figure is surprisingly low because many Germans travelling in the US visit multiple-destinations).

Meanwhile average roomnight (RN) expenditure also increased from 89.89€ to 94.68€ in 2016 for the German market, below the average expenditure registered for the European market (101.12€).&nbsp; Compared to the previous year, early bookings[2] recorded a 7% increase, although medium term[3] bookings still represented the most part of the bookings (46%), according to Hotelbeds Group’s internal reports.

Berlin, March 9th 2017 - Hotelbeds Group, the number one bedbank worldwide and a business-to-business provider of services to the travel industry, today announces at ITB Berlin that reservations from its Bedbank brands in the German source market for summer 2017 (June-September) continue to show signs of strength and optimism (based on bookings made up to the end of February).

The destinations registering the greatest level of bookings from the German source market through Hotelbeds Group´s distribution platforms include: Spain (Majorca, Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Gran Canarias and Costa Brava); the USA (New York, Las Vegas and San Francisco); Greece (Crete, Rhodes and Kos); and Italy (Rome and Venice). Among all these destinations, Greece remains the fastest growing year-on-year for the German market and also has the longest average stay characteristic (9 days).

Spain holds on to the top destination spot in Hotelbeds Group´s system when counting reservations from all European source markets. Spain is followed in order by the USA, Greece, Portugal, Italy and Turkey (which has seen a substantial fall in bookings overall). Among all these destinations, Portugal is registering the fastest growth (+28%) year-on-year.

Las agencias optarán a dos fam trip en Las Vegas y Miami y, posteriormente, otro organizado en Bangkok.

El primer fam trip tendrá lugar en Las Vegas y Miami entre el 19 y el 24 de abril. Para entrar en el sorteo, que se llevará a cabo el 7 de abril, las agencias contabilizarán todas las reservas de hotel, extras y traslados con destino Estados Unidos realizadas entre el 6 de marzo y el 6 de abril de 2017, las reservas en Las Vegas y Miami tendrán doble puntuación. Al promocional de Las Vegas y Miami, se sumará el fam trip organizado en Bangkok entre el 25 de abril y el 2 de mayo. En este caso, la campaña también tendrá en cuenta todas las reservas de hotel, extras y traslados con destino Asia creadas entre el 9 de marzo y el 8 de abril y se otorgará una doble puntuación para las reservas en Bangkok. El sorteo se realizará el 10 de abril de 2017. Este fam trip de 7 días dará la oportunidad a los profesionales españoles ganadores del sorteo de conocer uno de los destinos asiáticos más demandados entre los clientes españoles.

Los países que se visitarán en estos fam trip han sido seleccionados por ser de los destinos internacionales más demandados por las agencias españolas. De hecho, en los últimos tres años han registrado un aumento de ventas muy considerable, por una parte Estados Unidos creciendo un 55% y Bangkok un 65%.

As a result of this partnership, the 30-plus mutual clients from both companies will benefit from a faster booking experience and the best-in-class technology with new more complete and multilingual information, videos and high quality images.

OTRAMS consolidates API feeds from global travel suppliers and resellers, and gives online travel clients the choice of the best available rates using their own credentials and including a booking across hotels, tours and transfers.

	Reservations for the 2015 summer season have increased by 22% at a global level, with Spain, the United States and Greece registering the highest demand.

Berlin, 4 March 2015 – Hotelbeds, the No.1 Global B2B Bedbank, has announced its roomnight booking growth figures for the summer season during ITB Berlin 2015, one of the world’s leading travel trade shows, taking place between 4-8 March in the German capital.

As global tourism shows signs of strength and optimism reigns in most markets[1], Hotelbeds is on track to outpace the industry[2] again with an estimated 22% growth for global roomnights sales during the summer period (May-September). The main source markets for Hotelbeds at a global level are the UK, Germany, Spain and the United States.

Bookings into Europe, the Bedbank’s most important region in terms of volume, have increased by 32% in comparison to the same period last year, with the top source markets being the UK, Germany, Spain and Ireland.&nbsp;Spain remains the most important global destination for Hotelbeds this summer, with a 25% growth in bookings in comparison to the same period last year. Spain is followed by the United States and Greece, whose strength as a destination is backed by a solid 54% growth. This proves the eternal attraction of the Mediterranean, with Mallorca, the Algarve, Benidorm and Crete standing out among the top five most demanded destinations globally. The region also boasts growth rates above 30% in countries such as Italy, Greece, Croatia and Malta.

Hotelbeds' summer bookings increased by 22% at global level

London/Palma de Mallorca, 15 April 2015 – London’s travel tech industry has received a major boost, as one of the world’s leading travel companies announced its support for a new incubator space in the city.

Hotelbeds Group, the leading global provider of travel services and part of TUI Group, is to be the lead partner of the Traveltech Lab, a new incubator for travel tech companies based in London, the company announced today.&nbsp;Under the three-year agreement, Hotelbeds Group will provide support to the Traveltech Lab, including mentoring by Hotelbeds Group experts for the incubator’s start-ups.

The Traveltech Lab was created by London &amp; Partners, the Mayor’s promotional company for London, in partnership with The Trampery. It is hoped the incubator will help London become the number one city in the world for travel technology, supporting the development of the next lastminute.com, Citymapper or Skyscanner.

Hotelbeds Group to be lead partner of London’s Traveltech Lab


	100 developers from all over Europe competed to find solutions to several challenges faced by today’s traveller. Hotelbeds Group bets on constant innovation as part of its quest to reshape travel.


Palma de Mallorca, 11th May 2015 – Hotelbeds Group, the leading global provider of travel services, has supported and participated in THack @ Dublin 2015, part of a collaborative hackathon roadshow aimed to improve travel via technology.&nbsp;

Celebrated over the weekend at Dublin’s National Digital Research Centre, THack @ Dublin brought together 100 developers from all over the continent with leading travel tech companies for a competition. These programmers coded for 48 hours non-stop looking for solutions to four challenges faced by the modern traveller: 1.&nbsp;Finding inspiration to choose where to go and how to share experiences; 2.&nbsp;Seeking accommodation; 3.&nbsp;Planning routes; and 4.&nbsp;Exploring the destination.

The event’s sponsoring companies, including Hotelbeds Group, opened their proprietary APIs a week in advance of the event and provided onsite access to the individual developers and teams of up to five members. This enabled participants to use the APIs, as well as other publicly available resources, in programming solutions to one or more of the challenges put forward.&nbsp;

A team of Hotelbeds Group employees also attended the event after being selected in an internal hackathon developed within the company. The projects carried out on this occasion included a collaboration system for group decision-making and booking and an integrated platform of natural language recognition for travel reservations.

Hotelbeds Group’s participation in this initiative shows the company’s clear commitment towards innovation and playing a key role in reshaping the future of travel through supporting the creation of new developments. Technology and innovation form part of its DNA, which has always been a key driver of the business’ success and it ability to maintain a leading position in the global travel industry.

After two days, which included working through the night at NDRC, the different projects achieved recognition in several categories from the public and sponsoring companies. In the case of Hotelbeds Group, the company awarded first prize to the project DreamUp, thanks to its integration concept with the company’s new API, as well as innovation and positive user experience in the search process. Walking Distance was awarded runner-up for its use of the API’s search capabilities and usability concept. Finally, Snap rounded off Hotelbeds Group’s top three with the integrated use of mobile technology and simplicity of the solution.
