Palma, Spain, 20th July 2021 – Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has today announced a preferred partnership with RedDoorz, South-East Asia's largest and fastest growing technology-driven hotel&nbsp;management and booking platform.

This agreement will provide Hotelbeds with exclusive offers and benefits for its clients at almost 900 RedDoorz properties across South-East Asia. The new deal will also offer Hotelbeds the ability to expand its portfolio for both international and domestic offerings in key destinations such as Indonesia and the Philippines.

In return, this new partnership will give RedDoorz the ability to expand its global reach by gaining access to Hotelbeds' 60,000 travel trade buyers based in more than 140 source markets worldwide, including high value channels such as travel agents, tour operators, airlines and points redemption programmes

Palma, Spain, 13th July 2021 – Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has today announced a new agreement with Sala Hospitality Group, a homegrown Thai hospitality company that owns and operates eight luxurious and intimate properties.

With this agreement, Hotelbeds has secured exclusive offers and privileges for its clients at the group's seven properties, which include luxury resorts and boutique accommodations located in Thailand's most beautiful holiday destinations, including islands, cities and emerging regions. These offers are designed to inspire travel and help fuel the industry's recovery.

Sala Hospitality Group operates under two brands: SALA Resorts and Spas – luxurious villas and suites with access to rejuvenating SALA spas, romantic beach front bars and restaurants, for a very personal and private experience; and Sala Boutique – charming residences located in picturesque locations, many of which are filled with historical significance.

This new partnership will provide Sala Hospitality Group with access to Hotelbeds’ 60,000 travel trade buyers based in more than 140 source markets worldwide, that includes high value channels such as travel agents, tour operators, airlines and points redemption programmes.

This campaign is designed to drive domestic leisure tourism to Dallas, with a particular focus on weekday and long weekend visits. Throughout the promotion travel advisors will be introduced to the incredible opportunities that the Texan city of Dallas has to offer: its wide offer of art, culture and music, sporting events, gastronomic offerings, and the city's unique culture.

With this agreement, Hotelbeds has secured preferential offers and privileges for its clients at 11 properties that are part of All Suites across France. In preparation for meeting pent-up travel demand, Hotelbeds will have access to preferential rates designed to inspire travel and help drive industry recovery.

Hotelbeds and Samoa Tourism Authority  enter into an exciting new partnership 

Orlando, Florida, 20th May 2021 – Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has today announced a new collaboration with Aruba Tourism Authority, to promote this exotic Caribbean destination, also known as ‘One Happy Island’, to its extensive network of US travel advisors.

Starting in May, Hotelbeds will work with the Aruba Tourism Authority to educate travel advisors on the island's new protocols and security measures to provide a safe and welcoming environment for both visitors and locals, in an effort to encourage more tourists to visit the island and drive tourism recovery.

Hotelbeds’ Executive Chairman, Joan Vilà, after dedicating more than 30 years of his career to driving significant innovation, transformation, and growth, is announcing his decision to move to a non-executive role on the Board of Hotelbeds with effect from today.

Joan had originally planned to step back from the day to day running of the company in 2020, but the impact of COVID-19 required him to delay the move to focus on successfully navigating the company through the global crisis. Now, with a strengthened balance sheet and with the company in a good position to capitalise on the recovery once travel demand returns, Joan believes that this is the right time for him to follow his original plan to move to a non-executive role on Hotelbeds’ board.

JOAN VILÀ PROFILE:

Joan’s background with the company stretches back to 1989 when he joined Barceló Travel Group, to lead a DMC office in Spain where he quickly demonstrated his aptitude for driving business growth. In 1999 he was appointed MD of the division, that within a year was acquired by First Choice Holidays PLC.

Around this same time, he led a strategic transformation of the business.

With a view to international expansion and driven by the early promise afforded by developments in e-commerce, Joan had the vision to establish a new online business model that sat alongside the traditional DMC business. Joan named this new platform ‘Hotelbeds’ and in so doing, set the foundation for the Bedbank online distribution model, a concept that has since become one of the fastest growing and most competitive segments of the modern travel industry. This model has been the driver of a virtuous, high growth, circle where every new international source market the company expanded into, ensured ever greater reach, efficient access and growth for its hotel partners. Due to the success of the new model, in 2003 Joan rebranded the wider company as Hotelbeds, operating it independently from the rest of the group.

Joan was appointed a member of First Choice PLC’s General Management Board. In 2007, First Choice merged with the tourism division of TUI AG to form TUI Travel PLC (the precursor of today’s TUI Group), where Joan also served on the Executive Committee.

In 2016, Hotelbeds was carved-out of TUI and acquired by Cinven and CPPIB with Joan Vilà continuing in the position of Executive Chairman. Soon after, Joan led the acquisition and integration of the 2nd and 3rd biggest players in the sector, GTA and Tourico Holidays, creating as a consequence the world’s number one bedbank.

NICOLAS HUSS PROFILE:

Nicolas is an experienced board level executive and CEO with a strong reputation in the payment, financial services and travel industries which began when he became CEO of GE Money Spain in 2008. He then joined Apollo Global Management where he was responsible for building up their Consumer Finance business in Spain and Ireland, before progressing to become the&nbsp;CEO of Visa Europe in 2013 and then of Ingenico Group, a global player in payments, in 2018.

With his extensive experience of transforming technology and digital companies, Nicolas is an inspirational value-based leader who is credited with developing high performing teams, moving at pace to drive success and organic business growth while creating dynamic and collaborative cultures through which transformation and critical business outcomes are realised.

Nicolas was appointed as a non-executive independent board director to Amadeus IT Group in 2017, where he is also Chair of the Audit Committee and also as an independent non-executive director for Entersekt, an innovator of customer-centric fintech solutions, in 2020.

A French national, Nicolas has a truly international background and has lived and worked in many countries, including Spain where he was previously based for seven years and where two of his three sons now live.

	Ahead of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in May, Hotelbeds confirms that Dubai has remained among its top three destinations throughout the pandemic.
	Despite the crisis, Hotelbeds has recovered to pre-COVID levels in the wider UAE.


Dubai, 28th April 2021 – Ahead of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) taking place in Dubai next month, Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has revealed that the prestigious city has consistently been within its top three destinations by room nights sold throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, Hotelbeds, despite the crisis, has recovered to pre-COVID volumes, year to date, for the wider UAE as destination. Both early bird bookings and last-minute reservations characterize the majority of the room nights sold.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Regional Sourcing Director, Ali Taheri, commented: “While the whole of the travel industry has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, it is fantastic news that we can name Dubai as one of our leading destinations during this time, highlighting its enduring magnetism for travellers.
