	Global hotel chains IHG Hotels &amp; Resorts and Accor add their hotels to the thousands already certified as sustainable across Hotelbeds’ 180,000 strong portfolio.
	This turn-key programme means certified properties are identified, highlighted and promoted through a special green filter to the 60,000 travel trade buyers that partner with Hotelbeds.


Palma, Spain, 21st April 2021 – Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has today welcomed global hotel chains IHG Hotels &amp; Resorts and Accor to its Green Hotel Programme, further strengthening its commitment to sustainable tourism.

IHG and Accor are the latest industry players to join the Programme which was launched in October 2020 to identify, highlight and promote sustainable tourism within the Hotelbeds portfolio.

Their properties join thousands of hotels who are now certified as sustainable and promoted as such to Hotelbeds’ 60,000 travel trade clients via the ‘green filter’ that also includes details of certifications and offer tags.

The Green Hotels Programme is a turn-key solution to bring Hotelbeds and its partners into the green economy and accelerate the transition of the travel industry towards sustainability – a topic whose importance has increased dramatically in light of the COVID pandemic.

To certify the +15,000 properties included in the Programme, Hotelbeds partnered with global certification companies to identify&nbsp; fully certified hotel properties following the criteria set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), the leading global authority in setting and management standards for sustainable travel and tourism.

The criteria is organised around four main themes – effective sustainability planning, maximising social and economic benefits for the local community, enhancing cultural heritage and reducing negative impacts on the environment.

This latest announcement comes just a few weeks after we became one of the first travel companies to join Amazon and The Climate Pledge Commitment to become net zero carbon by 2040 as well as actively participating in the World Travel &amp; Trade Council’s Sustainability Workforce.

With this agreement, Hotelbeds has secured exclusive offers and privileges for its customers at Banyan Tree Group’s 48 hotels across 22 countries.

Hotelbeds signs strategic partnership with Cross Hotels & Resorts


	Hotelbeds has signed an agreement with Lausanne Tourism to promote the city as a European destination, once safe travel resumes.
	The campaign includes three Virtual Fam Trips, for travel agents only, to help them to get to know the city of Lausanne.
	The campaign will target Hotelbeds’ large portfolio of travel agents in five different European source market to take part in the virtual tours.


Palma, Spain, 25th March 2021 – Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has today announced an innovative agreement with Lausanne Tourism to encourage travel agents to participate in Lausanne Virtual Fam Trips.

Targeted at travel agents across Europe, this campaign will run until the end of May 2021 and will promote the Swiss city of Lausanne – voted in 2020 as the first ever ‘Best Small City in the World’ by the journalists of the tourism and economics magazine, Monocle.&nbsp;

Hotelbeds strongly believes in the potential of Lausanne as a top destination which is why it has partnered with the tourism board to help them reach 400 agents from five different European source markets identified to take part in the virtual series.

The campaign consists of a series of virtual trips to discover the city, its surroundings and attractions. Over the course of three webinars – on 31st March, 29th April and 3rd June – travel agents who register in advance will be able to remotely visit the city of Lausanne and its surroundings, as well as learn about its heritage and gastronomy, so that they can get to know the destination in detail and offer it to their clients when safe travel resumes.

If travel agents are not available to join the live virtual tour, they can still register and receive a recording of the Virtual Fam Trip. Additionally, the first 200 registered agents will receive a special gift from the Tourism Board.

Hotelbeds signs innovative partnership with Lausanne Tourism


	The agreement with TravelManagers further extends the exposure of Hotelbeds and its 180,000 hotel portfolio globally to the Australian source market.
	Deal also provides TravelManagers’ network of more than 500 personal travel managers access to exclusive rates and offers available via the Bedsonline booking platform. &nbsp;


Palma, Spain, 23rd March 2021 – Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has today announced a preferred deal with TravelManagers, a wholly owned subsidiary of House of Travel, with whom it signed a similar agreement just a few weeks ago.

The deal with TravelManagers, which operates independently from House of Travel, will enable Hotelbeds to further extend its retail distribution reach in Australia, through TravelManagers’ 530 personal travel managers (PTMs) operating in all states and territories.

In turn, TravelManagers’ PTMs will gain full access to Hotelbeds’ extensive portfolio of 180,000 hotel properties in 140 countries worldwide, many of which are contracted under special terms and conditions.

TravelManagers’ PTMs will also be able to offer their clients ancillary services from Hotelbeds’ ‘Beyond The Bed’ portfolio which comprises 25,000 transfer routes, 18,000 activities in more than 680 destinations, and 30,000 pick-up locations in 170 countries - all available on Bedsonline's dedicated online portal for travel agents.

TravelManagers joins Hotelbeds’ existing portfolio of 60,000 travel trade buyers, with a quality profile that on average, attracts travellers that book higher value properties further in advance, stay for longer, have lower cancellation rates and spend more in-destination.

Palma, Spain, 25th February 2021 – Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has announced today a preferred deal with House of Travel, the largest privately owned travel company in New Zealand and the third largest travel organisation in the Asia Pacific region.

This new enhanced partnership will give Hotelbeds a prominent position on House of Travel’s booking platform, Splash, and enable it to increase its distribution reach in New Zealand, through House of Travel’s retail network of 63 stores and points of presence.

In turn, House of Travel will gain full access to Hotelbeds’ extensive portfolio of 180,000 hotel properties in 140 countries worldwide providing breadth and depth of range globally – many of which are contracted under special terms and conditions. In addition, House of Travel will also be able to offer its clients ancillary services from Beyond The Bed, a portfolio which comprises 25,000 transfer routes, 18,000 activities in more than 680 destinations, and 30,000 pick-up locations in 170 countries.

House of Travel joins Hotelbeds’ existing portfolio of 60,000 travel trade buyers, who typically attract non-domestic travellers that book higher value properties further in advance, stay for longer, have lower cancellation rates and spend more at the property.

It was also recently certified as a Carbon Neutral organisation for the third year running.

	Measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis;
	Implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon emission elimination strategies;
	Neutralize any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially-beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040 — a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement’s goal of 2050.

Its report, published earlier this week, confirmed the most relevant distribution channels that generated the highest revenues for hotels during 2020.&nbsp; Hotelbeds ranked highly in all destinations globally, leading SiteMinder to emphasize the continued relevance of wholesalers to hoteliers as a key distribution channel.
