With this agreement Cloudbeds aims to increase its connectivity partnership program by helping its 22,000 hotel, hostel and vacation rental partners reach the over 60,000 B2B travel partners – including tour operators, travel agencies, airlines and points schemes in over 185 source markets – that use the Hotelbeds booking platform.

Additionally, the accommodation provider partners of Cloudbeds will benefit from the high-value guests that Hotelbeds’ B2B travel buyers typically offer, including guests that book earlier, pay more, cancel less, stay for longer and spend twice as much in the destination.

Palma, 2nd July, 2019. Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has announced today an ambitious plan to increase the number of travel agent customers affiliated to the bedbank booking platform as part of its commitment to offer hoteliers access to high-value guests.

The goal of this strategic plan is to add 14,000 new travel agent customers – focusing in particular on luxury travel agents and those specialising in high-value, long-haul bookings – in the coming next three years, taking the total to over 64,000 travel agents globally.

Travel agents – along with tour operators, airlines and points redemption schemes – form a central part of Hotelbeds’ strong commitment to offer to hoteliers incremental bookings of non-domestic and high-value guests who book further in advance, cancel less, pay more for a room, spend more in destination and come back more frequently.

Palma, 19th June 2019. Hotelbeds, the world’s leading bedbank, has announced today a preferred partnership agreement with HotelRunner, a sales channel management platform and B2B network for OTAs and hotels.

With this agreement HotelRunner increases its connectivity partnership program by helping its 35,000 hotel, hostel and vacation rental partners reach the over 60,000 travel trade buyers that use the Hotelbeds booking platform – including tour operators, travel agencies, airlines and points redemption schemes in over 185 source markets.

As a result of gaining access to Hotelbed’s travel trade buyers the accommodation partners of HotelRunner will benefit from incremental reservations from non-domestic markets via&nbsp; Hotelbeds global distribution channels that generate high-value bookings with guests that, on average, book earlier, cancel less, stay for longer and spend twice as much in destination.

With this partnership, HotelRunner will assist Hotelbeds to access significant additional hotel partners globally, with wider coverage in Turkey, Africa, LATAM and South East Asia.

As of today China-based hoteliers will have access to a Chinese domain version of MaxiRoom, the Hotelbeds free hotel extranet that was launched in 2015. MaxiRoom is designed to control and maximize hotel occupancy rates through Hotelbeds’ distribution channels in a faster, smarter and easier way.

Hotelbeds launches Chinese domain for its hotel extranet 


	Over 700 attendees at MarketHub Americas and Europe events – made up of travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and points redemption partners – were surveyed on their technology views.
	Only 18% of those surveyed felt their mobile consumer website “best in class” and only 24% have adopted machine learning capacity.
	Many B2C travel companies in Europe admitted that their business has “no near future plans to embrace blockchain”, with only 11% having already adopted the technology.


Palma,&nbsp; 13th June 2019 – Hotelbeds, the world´s nº1 leading bedbank, has today released details of the audience surveys conducted at its recent MarketHub Americas and Europe events held last May in Cancun and Istanbul respectively.

Participants at both MarketHub events – which were attended by over 700 senior representatives from travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and points redemption partners from across the Americas and Europe– took part in audience surveys digitally during the conference sessions. Attendees responded to a series of questions about their views and understanding of technology.

The results showed that whilst the B2C travel companies are aware of the importance of technology to drive growth in their businesses, nevertheless many intermediaries in the B2C space are struggling to respond to the challenges of new technology – and could boost their business by both improving their technology and their understanding of its benefits.

When attendees at the MarketHub Americas event were asked “How do you rate your consumer mobile website?”, 44% of respondents said they needed a little help, 23% said they needed a lot of help, 6% admitted they were awful in this area, and 9% admitted to not having a site. Only 18% felt their mobile consumer site to be best in class.

Additionally, the results showed that machine learning still represents a huge opportunity for B2C travel companies. Only 24% were able to confirm that their business was currently using machine learning, with 10% having plans to introduce machine learning and 6% having no plans. Interestingly, 38% weren´t sure if their business was using machine learning or not.

MarketHub Europe audience results showed that around 78% of the attendees admitted that their business has “no near future plans to embrace blockchain”, with only 11% having already adopted the technology and the small remainder planning to do so in the coming 12 months.

When asked about marketing automation in their business, 14% of the European event attendees didn’t know if their business was using it and 15% confirmed they weren’t using it at all; an additional 37% revealed they were only using the most basic of automation techniques, with only 22% feeling themselves “reasonably advanced” and just 11% feeling themselves “advanced”.

Audience survey at Hotelbeds’ MarketHub events reveals B2C travel tech challenges


	During the last year more than 5,000 additional European hotels have begun distributing via Hotelbeds.
	Over 70,000 unique hotels now available in Europe to Hotelbeds’ global network of 60,000 retail travel agents, tour operators, airlines and points redemption schemes – with over 180,000 hotels available globally.
	Over 40% of total hotels in Europe are directly contracted under exclusive conditions.


Istanbul, 30th May 2019. Hotelbeds, the world’s nº 1 B2B bedbank, has confirmed today at MarketHub Europe event, which takes place in Istanbul from 28th to 31st May, an increase in the number of European hotel partners available for its B2B travel buyers globally.

During the last year Hotelbeds has increased in Europe by 5,000 the number of unique hotels available on its platform to its global network of over 60,000 B2B travel buyers such as retail travel agents, tour operators, airlines and points redemption schemes.

Currently a total of 70,000 unique hotels are available on the Hotelbeds system in Europe, of which 40% of them are directly contracted under exclusive terms and conditions – whilst at a global level over 180,000 unique hotels are available on the platform.

In Turkey, where the MarketHub Europe event is taking place, the number of hotels contracted increased by 300 during the last year reaching a total of 4,500 hotels available to book.

This follows Hotelbeds recently confirming a strategic partnership with KILIT HOSTPITALITY GROUP, Turkey’s largest leisure hotel company and the owners of Crystal Hotel Chain, Amara World Hotels and Nirvana Lagoon Luxury.

5,000 additional European hoteliers recognize the value of B2B sales channel


	Analysis shows that around 86% of reservations that Hotelbeds offers its European hotel partners originate from non-domestic source markets – with around one in three coming from non-European, long-haul source markets.
	Proportion of long-haul bookings has recently grown thanks to China bookings, with China now ranking as Hotelbeds’ sixth biggest source market travelling to Europe, up 40% compared to the same period last year.
	Non-domestic, and in particular long-haul, bookings typically pay a higher rate, cancel less, are made further in advance, stay for longer, spend more in destination and return more often.


Istanbul, 29th May, 2019 – Hotelbeds, the world´s nº1 B2B bedbank, has today provided at MarketHub Europe event, which takes place this week in Istanbul, an update on the non-domestic bookings that its B2B sales platform offers to its European hotel partners.

Hotelbeds can confirm that 86% of its bookings for European destinations are non-domestic. Additionally, 28% of its European hotel reservations currently come from non-European, long-haul source markets, up from around 25% in 2018.

This growth in international tourists arriving to Europe can be mainly attributed to a 40% year-on-year increase in reservations for Chinese tourists via Hotelbeds, with China now ranking as Hotelbeds’ sixth biggest source market to Europe.

Carlos Muñoz, Hotelbeds Managing Director, said, “We have always been able to offer our European hotel partners a very high and steady proportion of non-domestic bookings and within that a significant part has always been from long-haul, non-European source markets, such as the United States, Japan and Middle East.

“Not only do these incremental bookings complement a hotel’s distribution mix, it also provides them with guests that typically pay a higher rate, cancel less, stay for longer, spend more at the hotel and even come back more often &nbsp;– such as tour operators, retail travel agents, airline websites and loyalty and reward points schemes&nbsp; – in other words, high-value reservations. This is even more so the case with the long-haul bookings as they typically stay much longer and spend much more.

“But now the boom in Chinese visitors is increasing the percentage of non-European bookings even higher. We can confirm today at MarketHub in Europe that we’ve worked hard over the last few years to raise awareness with our European hotelier partners on how to best attract Chinese travellers to their hotel, advising them on points such as not just language, but strategies such as social media, payments and even Chinese travellers’ tastes.”

Currently a total of 180,000 unique hotels globally are available on the Hotelbeds system and a majority of the hotels are directly contracted under exclusive terms and conditions. This growth has been driven by the renewed focus of Hotelbeds in providing its hotel partners with incremental bookings via its network of 60,000 travel buyers from both non-domestic source markets and B2B buyers – including tour operators, retail travel agents, airline websites and loyalty and reward points schemes.

Reservations made via the B2B offer hoteliers high-value guests that typically book earlier, pay more, cancel less, stay for longer and spend twice as much in the destination.

The program, which was recently launched at the company’s headquarters in Palma, Spain, has already reached a participation rate of 60% amongst employees where the programme is live. &nbsp;

Employees have already participated in around 230 volunteering activities and dedicated 5,000+ hours to support the following areas: the environment, health, people at risk of social exclusion, poverty and childhood.

Launched in the first office one year ago, Hotelbeds has gradually rolled out the program globally hosting 11 events across its different Hotelbeds offices worldwide, including Orlando, Singapore, Bangkok, Cancun, Tel Aviv, Dubai, London, Beijing, Shanghai, Zurich and most recently the headquarters in Palma de Mallorca, reaching a total of 3,000 of&nbsp; 5,000 employees worldwide.

Around 50 NGOs around the globe have been able to benefit from the Hotelbeds Corporate Volunteering program, including NGOs such as Give Kids the World in Orlando,&nbsp; Beyond Social Services in Singapore, The Thai Red Cross in Bangkok, Mallorca Sense Fam and El Grec in Mallorca and Food for Life in Tel Aviv, among many others.

Shanghai, China – April 29, 2019 – Hotelbeds, the world´s leading business-to-business bedbank, has today revealed the top international destinations for Chinese travellers during the four day International Labour Day holiday period starting on Wednesday, May 1st.

According to booking data from the Hotelbeds platform for this year’s break, ten of the top 30 international destinations for Chinese travellers during International Labour Day in 2019 are non-Asian destinations, up from only three last year.

Paris and London are listed in the top 30 destinations in 9th and 15th places respectively, with Paris last year coming in at number 23 and London not ranking at all in the top 30.

Further down the top 30 ranking, Paris and London are followed by other non-Asian destinations such as Prague (22nd), Barcelona (23rd), Dubai (24th), Honolulu (26th), Madrid (27th), New York (28th), Melbourne (29th), and Rome (30th).

This year’s jump in the number of non-Asian destinations could in part be explained by the fact that this year Chinese citizens will enjoy an extra day of holiday during International Labour Day, taking the break to four days total.

International Labour Day is a nationwide holiday in China. It used to be a seven day “Golden Week” until it was shortened in 2008. The date of International Labour Day is on May 1st and it remains the same year to year, but the working and non-working days plan varies each year, according to the government’s plan, which is normally a three day holiday.

However this year’s extra day was only announced recently by the State of China, when on March 22 it announced a reshuffling of the non-working days for the Labour Day Holiday. This has resulted in a surge of extra accommodation bookings – with Hotelbeds’ data showing a year-on-year increase of around 75% in the weeks following the government’s surprise announcement.&nbsp;

This is likely due to the longer holiday period driving advanced bookings – this year we saw the same booking figures in March that we’d seen in April the year before - and in the weeks after the government announcement we saw an overall surge of around 75% in year-on-year bookings. Our Chinese B2B travel buying customers are very hungry for hotels that suit the needs and budget of their travelers as more and more Chinese travelers venture beyond Asia for the first time.”

Currently a total of 180,000 unique hotels are available on the Hotelbeds system and a majority of the hotels are directly contracted under exclusive terms and conditions. This growth has been driven by the renewed focus of Hotelbeds in providing its hotel partners with complementary bookings via its network of 60,000 travel buyers from both non-domestic source markets and B2B buyers – including tour operators, retail travel agents, airline websites and loyalty and reward points schemes.
